Let it move you
I'm deep into writing "Love Bites," my paranormal romance about hunky vamp, Wade, and his human love, Jui. I've been envisioning this scene where they meet the next time and trying to decide what to do with it. Last night, I went to the Il Divo concert and while listening to those four men sing their hearts out in the most romantic languages in the world, I figured it out. Are you like me? Does music really move you, even if you can't understand the words? After a particularly beautiful Spanish love song, I leaned over and said to my sister, "That was probably about loving to play in the sandbox..." LOL When they sang "Unbreak My Heart" in Spanish, I cried. It was so beautifully done.
So, getting back to Love Bites, Wade is battling his wills...he is a normal, blood-sucking vamp but he knows he can't be around Jui. He is horrified at the prospect of turning her and consequently facing her loathing for all eternity, and yet he can't stay away. Something about her calls to him and vise versa. Oceans separate the two physically right now and Wade just took on a wild boar in the Bavarian forest to take out his fury and disgust with himself. It was a really powerful scene, illustrating to Wade exactly why he and Jui can't be together and what kind of life he really lives. He's told Jui to forget about him and make a life with a man named Rob, who really cares about her. Will she? Can she? It's a romance! What do you think?
The writing heat really got turned up last week. I finished 6 features and picked up 3 more rushes this week and then a book I hadn't expected to edit, landed back with me. Hummm. I have two more out with authors already. Could be a really hectic month. I hope I survive it!
Until the next time.
