Release on Saturday
Saturday is the big day - "Awakening Allaire" will be released! Wow. Who'd a thunk? A year ago, I had about half of it written and decided to finish the story. Little did I know how much finishing I'd have to do to turn it into a novel but I did it. I'm glad I forgot about that stupid college prof who scared the shit out of me all those years ago. I had to smirk when I sent in my profile update to my former university to announce the release of Awakening and Avenging. Yafucketyhoo!
This week, I'm still rocking and rolling on two novels I'm editing and I have to get one of them done for a September release. I think I've got about 40 pages left. I liken novel editing to banners on a flag pole. There's one banner for each character, one for the plot, one for each subplot, and one for the technical aspects. The goal is to get those banners flying in the same direction in the wind, not act like a hurricane just passed through. It is truly the biggest headache for writers - to spend the time editing their books properly before submission so we editors don't have to make their lives miserable afterward. If you're a writer and keep getting rejected, you might want to look at your flag pole. Are the banners flying in the same direction or twisted like a storm? Get somebody you trust - not just who likes you - and knows what they're talking about to read your mss. I'll bet your success improves.
I'm also working on two more magazine articles. Contemporary topics and always interesting. If I could, I'd work for this client. They are so cool. Nods to ESI in Boise.
This morning I'm having coffee with fellow author, Lauri Robinson. She lives nearby and aside from being a terrific woman, she's a wealth of information. She and I are going to do some joint book signings before Christmas. I'll update that on my website when we get them set. I have a couple others planned as well.
I'd better get going on that editing. I hope you are having an awesome day. If you buy my book, I'd love to hear what you thought!
Until the next time.

Girl I hear ya.
I so want--no deserve my very shiny tiara..lol
think the hardest thing after an author writes and sells their story is networking. There are some really great authors that don't know the first thing of getting the books seen by the public.
Then there author who have so-so books(margie don't you dare put yourself in this class
Now there are the awsome authors that know exactly what their doing( Margie insert here) and have an amazing read and network. Those authors are well rounded authors.
Congrats on the new release of Awakening Allaire and for getting a spot on Romance in the Backseat.
All the best,
Christine

Thanks, Christine, and everyone who swings through here. It is quite the adventure to publish a book. I'm really starting to believe that writing it was the easy part. LOL I'm locked and loaded for the crazy ride!
