My Tiara
Well, it's out. Awakening Allaire was released on Saturday through Class Act Books. The print copies can't be ordered yet and that's a bit frustrating but it'll be available in print sooner than later! Some folks have asked me whether I know how many copies (Ebooks) I sold already. I had to chuckle. No book signing tour either until I gas up my clunker Ford. Yeah, it would qualify for that rebate but somehow I'd have to fork over the cash for a new car payment and right now, I mean until the big royalties roll in, I think I'll just be driving my old wheels. LOL
My tiara. Yes, I actually have one. No, it's not one that I won at a beauty contest. Actually, it probably came from a 5 and Dime, but I got it as a Christmas present from someone I used to work with. When I do something that gets a thumbs up, I put it on. Yesterday I wore it three times. My two feature stories got great remarks from the client - which is important since my feature writing pays bills around here. And the contributors chimed in with more thumbs up! These were stories about using social media - I really ended up liking that story a lot - and one about what employers might expect when they have openings. A lot of us are still unemployed. Will they face a landslide of qualified or unqualified folks. It's not probably what you think. Another interesting piece for me to write. I got to meet some very cool folks who know what they're talking about too!
Last night, I had a chat - on the phone even! with Terry Kate, from Romance in the Backseat. I'm going to participate in a Round Robin being written by a group of suspense authors. We each write about 1,000 words. My turn in the writer's seat comes up next weekend. It'll be a great challenge to rub elbows with more well-known authors and see how I do. It's nerve wracking...and I only get about 24 hours to turn my pages in but the more we write, the better we get. Authors have to promote themselves and their work every where. So, if you like my work, please help me pass the word. Find me on Twitter/margaretrchurch, facebook/margiechurch too!
And speaking of writing, the dreaded newsletter awaits.
Until the next time.
