A Grinworthy Day
This has been an over-the-top kinda week. My husband says I've been peeing my pants for a week and I think he's right. Between the books and my feature writing, it's pretty awesome, humbling. OVERWHELMING.
I called my hubby this morning and said, "I'm wearing my tiara again." He asked what happened. I got a contract for my children's book, First Spring! Squeeeeeee! Guardian Angel Publishing (www.guardianangelpublishing.com) offered me a contract. The book will come out in their Littlest Angel section. I don't have any details right now about releases or any of that. It has to be illustrated - it'll be a beautiful picture book for babies and toddlers when it's done. I wrote this piece 10 years ago for my youngest son so the book is dedicated to him. I'm sure you'll be hearing more as this process begins.
Awakening Allaire is now available to order in print from my publisher, Class Act Books (www.classactbooks.com). I can't wait to hold a copy in my hands. It's funny how the market is moving away from printed books but yet, to physically hold that work is so precious. There's something vapor-like and impersonal about computer files but they're convenient and don't require dusting! I hope you like Awakening and I'm excited as hell to share Avenging Allaire with you too. The other day a woman called me and introduced herself as a real live Allaire. LOL She'd heard about my books from a friend and had to call me since the name is so unusual. It was a pretty interesting conversation. She wants an autographed copy. I'll be happy to supply one even if she's in her 70's. I warned her about the spice content and she said she'd just skip those pages! My kinda gal!
I can't let the moment pass without thanking everyone to shouts squeeeeeee with me, or writes to me every time I have hit one of these milestones. Leslie is one of my advance readers on Avenging and Love Bites and an avid fan of mine on the Forbidden Love website. She channeled Frank Sinatra and sang to me tonight. You melted my heart. You guys at Forbidden Love are just amazing and I hope to get to meet some of you next winter in Dallas. My mom stopped by with steaks and champagne and I didn't mind cooking at all for some reason! If you like my work, please let others know. Every little bit helps. It's a big world and I'm a small potato.
Girl's weekend near Brainerd starting tomorrow. Thank goodness. I think I need a reality check and a couple of beers. Something grounding about watching the stars by the campfire with 10 of your buddies, isn't there?
Until the next time.
