Avenging Allaire in Copyediting
I wrote the dedication and finished the last edits on Avenging Allaire today. It comes out November 1 so I'm happy to be a bit ahead of the game. I spoke with my editor about the cover art earlier this week. As soon as that is done, I can create the trailer and all that other fun promotion stuff. I can't wait to share the book with you.
I'm really excited about Avenging Allaire because it is such a complex book. The subplots are very intreguing and you never know what is going to happen next. The story includes all kinds of white collar crime, murder, and suspense. Oh and there's even some dumpster diving. Did I forget the romance? Oh geez...Devon and Allaire are still wild for each other and their passion definitely hasn't cooled. I've already had two requests to review it from reviewers of Awakening Allaire. That is definitely good news.
And speaking of Awakening Allaire, I just got another GREAT review. This one is from MarthaE Reads. Take a read:Martha's Bookshelf. On Tuesday, I'll slide into the guest author's chair at Blazing Trailers. If you haven't seen the video trailer for Awakening Allaire, here's the link: Blazing Trailers. It is really fun to watch the book sales position. Right now, Awakening Allaire is #1 at Fictionwise and OmniLit for Class Act Books. It is #8 at BookStrand and on page 4 of AllRomanceEbooks. If you read the book, please go back out and rate or review it. It impacts sales and most of us don't get advances.
Tonight I'm going to a gal pal's to drink some wine, sign a couple books, relax, and gossip. Tomorrow morning it's coffee over here for some dear friends who bought books and then I'm canning banana peppers. Yep. All weekend long I'll also be at our church masses as we kick off all the volunteer signup and promotions for our parish festival. I'm the general chair. It's a lot of work for our committee but geez, we sure have a lot of fun. So do our guests! After church on Sunday, I gotta make salsa. I have tomatoes, green peppers, and onions coming out of my ears. Gardens don't seem to care much if you're too busy for them. When they're ready, they're ready. We get our revenge by leaving stuff out there for the first frost. Gotcha! My pumpkins look beautiful and ready to carve. Makes me wonder what they'll look like come Halloween. I'm thinking...pie.
I'd love to hear from you. Drop by and leave a note.
Until the next time.

Margie - Thank you for signing our books and sending them to ND. . . I just finished reading Awakening Allaire - WOW what a great book!!!! It truly was a great story; a great read, and the details - truly amazing! The 'steaming' parts made it seem like I was right there in the bedroom. And when she was kidnapped, I could sense what she was going through, just like I was there with her the entire time! I was amazed at the details, however, it was all done in a very tasteful way - not tacky at all! I just couldn't put the book down! I was trying to can peaches this weekend, and had to take a break to read some more chapters LOL! I must say that I have a few thoughts on where Devon and Allaire might possibly take us with Avenging Allaire, and can hardly wait to get my hands on that one! Congrats on a great book and wish you all of the best in your future publications! Your 'extended family' in North Dakota is anxiously awaiting the new book release in November! Thanks for keeping my weekend very exciting! Enjoy your new 'fame' - we'll be supporting you every step of the way! LORI

Lori, I'm glad Awakening Allaire added a little spice to your weekend. I was gonna say I'm glad it added spice to your peaches, but that mighta made you blush.
It's always a pleasure to hear that my work resonated positively with a reader. My pal, Amy, came by on Saturday morning to get her copy and she had a similar reaction. I couldn't be more pleased.
I'd love to hear where you think Devon and Allaire are going to go in Avenging Allaire. That book is loaded with subplots and it'll definitely keep you guessing. But, if you're wondering if they're gonna get all dolled up and spend a romantic New Year's Eve together, I'll spoiler that...you betcha.
Thanks for the wonderful review. Tell all your friends. Struggling authors have bills to pay, too, and Letterman is getting old. I gotta make it big before he retires! I'm just sayin!!!

Thanks, Lori! It's always nice to hear somebody enjoyed my work and wants more. As for a third book, I haven't got that in mind yet. If I did, I think it would have to center around the other characters - likely Garman. I don't want to go into too much about my thoughts about it because Garman has such an interesting role in Avenging.
However, I am up to my eyeballs in editing on Love Bites, which is my erotic paranormal. If I get a contract on it, that'll be the next thing you'll get from me unless you're interested in nursery rhymes. My children's book is still in production, too! So, come back here and subscribe so you can keep up. You're always welcome to bring along a bunch of friends, too!
