Avenging Allaire Released
Yahoooo! Avenging Allaire is on the market! Actually it got released yesterday while we were in this marathon author chat over at Mistress Bella's Palace. You really gotta go see Class Act Books' homepage. Both books are splashed on it, plus Awakening Allaire is the bestseller AND you can read my free holiday piece, Incinerate. Nothing erotic about Incinerate...it's a short story about cooking disasters. I wrote it while I was working on my Allaire arc so it is loaded with British slang. It's a hoot. Happy Thanksgiving from me to you. While you're on that page, you'll notice that all EBooks prices are slashed til the end of the year. If you like reading with a Kindle or EReader...here's your chance.
The chat yesterday was a lot of fun. My hands just ached after several hours of typing. This afternoon I was in a live chat and those are really fast. You just dive right in. If the room is crowded, it is a challenge to keep up with the conversation. You learn a lot and it's usually outrageous fun if any of the writers are erotic writers.
I took my pooch, Jewel, for a walk tonight. I needed to clear my head after such a busy writing weekend and oh yeah, that Vikings victory. Kicked some Packers behind! It is 37 degrees here. Warm enough to just need a polar fleece jacket and no hat but still need gloves. I hate cold hands. I also have some spots on my face that have been frost bitten and it doesn't take much to make those spots sting. Luckily tonight the winds are calm. The moon punched a perfectly round hole in the light-polluted sky. Maybe it wasn't light pollution, maybe it was the sun just a bit reluctant to be gone from our Midwestern sky an hour early. Venus was giggling over my right shoulder as I walked and behind me, the stars were twinkling...but to my east the moon stole the show. Bright white and gray speckled. I love the moon more than the sun I think. I love walking at night. With my headphones on. I know. Don't start. But my brain is always so busy that unless I put on the headphones, I don't actually quiet down. I do some of my best thinking then. I let the music take me where it wants. Tonight I caught whiffs of an early evening bonfire, and the sweet perfume of Downy. It was much nicer being outside, kicking through the leaves with Jewel than doing the laundry. That's tomorrow's work.
While I was walking, two of my characters in my fan fic were yammering at me. See I'm getting them ready for the big seduction. As you know, I always dread those. Huge expectations from the reader to make it as good as you've built it up to. I've been teasing and tempting and cold showering my characters for a couple weeks. My readers are ready to cry from frustration. Yeah, I'm mean, but you can't just have these characters hopping in the sack left and right. That's not romance, at least not my kind. The heroine is very frustrated and tired of waiting but she has her pride. She's laid it on the line and now she waits. The hero is as skittish as a new colt. He' has been burned to a crisp by women he loved. Understandably, he's taking things slow. He's pretty sure this is the right woman for him, but he's been absolutely dead wrong before. So, he's told her no sex without trust. I hear the angry crowd chanting in the background, "Get on with it!" They have clubs and other weapons with them. Eventually it'll happen.
I also have been working on Love Bites. I've written the last big confrontation between my vampire, Wade, and the one who has made it his mission to kill Wade if he doesn't stay away from Jui. Poor girl is half way across the world wondering where the heck Wade went. If he goes to her, Ladislav Husek will fry his ass like fish in oil. The next bridging chapter will be about Jui. Will she kick the idea of being with Wade Kairos to the curb or not. Cuz after that comes...THE END. It's a romance. You decide. And if I get a contract on the book, you'll have to read it to find out. Wade is not like Devon in the Allaire arc. He's lean and in good shape, but not the muscular hunky guy that Devon is. Wade has caramel-colored long hair, an angular jaw, long nose, hazel eyes that dance with golden flames when the vamp comes out to play. Oh and he is an 11 on a 1-10 - Jui's score, not mine. LOL
I have a busy week ahead of me. I'm looking for a job really hard. This netowrking takes a lot of time. Between the networking for that, the seminars, searching and then all the networking for the books, I spend hours and hours answering email. It's overhwelming. And once I get Love Bites done, I have to start my children's stuff. I've tentatively decided on a URL for my website and blog. I'll have to see if it's available. So much to do. So much to do. Please send me good thoughts on the job front. This is really stressful on our family.
Anyway, thanks for reading. I hope you read Avenging Allaire. If you read either book, please go out and rate it where you bought it, if you can. Twitter it, facebook it, do something to let people know what you thought. Referrals help me more than anything...same thing for the job stuff. If you know anyone looking for a crackerjack writer....
Until the next time.
