BETWEEN3 - Jeanne Oiler

Welcome to Romance with SASS, Jeanne! This is your first visit, so please introduce yourself to my romance lovers.

Well, thanks for having me! I am JL Oiler and I live in the mountains of West Virginia with my husband and children. I am a graduate of Fairmont State University in Fairmont West Virginia, and hold a Masters degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. I have always possessed a passion to create stories to entertain my friends and family, but life led me on a variety of paths before I found the opportunity to return to the dream of writing stories to share.
I currently have stories with Rebel Ink Press and Silver Publishing. Though I enjoy the erotic paranormal genre, I have dabbled in other areas of romance as well. My first release came in January of 2010. Since that time I have had multiple individual releases as well as the opportunity to work on several anthologies. I can often be found chatting about upcoming events or releases on Facebook.
Who are the three characters in Between3? What makes them special and memorable?
The heroine of this story is Celeste Drain, a woman looking to escape a problematic relationship.
My two heroes (yes, two yummy alpha type males) are Craig and Justin who just happen to be visiting this side of the dirt looking for a bit of R&R. The partners actually belong to a group of keepers whose mission it is to guard one of the gates to Hell.
The character all have a wonderful and empowering dynamic, which made easy to love and write!
What inspired BETWEEN3?
Actually, I was out with a friend catching up on life when I witnessed an exchange between two people that was the final debate to what I am certain was a troubled relationship. From that, I began to wonder “What if?” and the story started to flow from there. The characters each whispered their stories and the entire thing fell into place.
What will excite readers about this book?
I think the strength and attitude of Celeste as an empowered woman will suck readers in, while the sizzling interactions between the three will keep readers turning the pages.
I always am curious about a writer's style. How do you describe yours?
Haphazard a good bit of the time. I usually have one story in process where the characters are telling me the story as I write, another which is plot-driven, and a third that is a combination of both.
When you're not writing, what other things life inspire you?
I love nature and am an avid people watcher. There is not much in life that I can honestly say does not inspire me in one way or another.
Now that we've gotten to know the pen behind this exciting new romance, let's get a look at a very hot excerpt.

"How about we get you out of all these clothes," Justin whispered in her ear as he moved up behind her, trapping her body between he and Craig. He pulled the hem of her shirt upward as she raised her arms and she laughed and squirmed because Craig followed the path with his hands and the bothersome material caught on her head. Justin froze when he spied the dark, blue-black bruises that circled her upper arm. This explained why she'd forgone a tank or short-sleeved shirt on such a humid evening. Witnessing the damage to her pale skin, Justin knew he should've allowed Craig to tear the asshole that hurt her in half.
A low, primordial growl echoed across the small space that separated them as Craig spied what had caught Justin’s attention. The look in his eyes going from passionate to primal in a flash, Celeste trembled in his grip.
"Maybe I should go?" she said nervously, her discomfort obvious as she refused to make eye contact with either male.
"I should've killed the bastard," the coldness in Craig’s voice as he spoke seemed to drop the temperature in the room ten degrees. "You're never to go near that human again."
Justin saw the confusion cross her face at his word choice. "He means please stay away from that man. We don't want you hurt anymore," Justin offered as a means to draw attention away from any thought they might be anything less than human.
"I don’t plan on it," she assured them. "But maybe I should just go."
"Please don’t," Justin whispered against the nape of her neck, looking to reclaim the passion that had burned between the three of them just minutes earlier. "It wasn't our intention to make you uncomfortable. Where we're from, a woman is treated as a precious commodity and she's to be revered, honored, protected, and made to feel desired."
"Forgive me," Craig added as he placed gentle kisses upon her eyelids and jaw, all the while allowing his hands to caress her skin with feather like touches.
* * * *
Celeste was uncertain how they moved from standing in the middle of the room to lying naked on the bed. Still, here they were, arms and legs tangled together as the men kissed and stroked her body. Justin was right about one thing, they definitely made her feel desired. Horny as hell was a better description. Her nipples and pussy throbbed so badly with need she actually hurt."Please," she managed breathlessly between Justin sucking one breast and Craig nibbling across the back of her neck and earlobe. She could feel the jerk of both their cocks against her at the sound of the plea.
"Are you certain love? Can you handle us both?"
Holy smokes...I'm definitely going to read this book. I've never written a menage and it's tricky. You seem to have all the right moves, Jeanne! Good luck with Between3!

I love threesomes but often am hyper critical with them. When they are well written I love them but when the author loses site of the position of the players it can leave me frustrated and annoyed.
I am certainly intrigued by your excerpt and you have me sold
Great post as usual.

Thanks! I really enjoy the challenge of writing threesomes and agree that it becomes frustrating when the writer losses the mindsett of where and when each character is taking part. I certainly hope mine meets with your approval Margie. If you find anywhere I seem to have gotten lost please bring it to my attention so I can avoid the same mistake on my current WIP!
This is also one of my favorite covers Valerie. It was done by Carl Franklin at Rebel Ink Press.
