What’s So Sexy About Older Men?

Travis: I’m always happy to cum (((wicked grin)))
Deanna: Don’t I know it. You and your new beau kept my fingers busy on the keyboard with all your action. Now speaking of your new man, John Godfrey, can you tell me a bit about him?
Travis: (((gets a dreamy look in his bright blue eyes))) Oh you wouldn’t believe me if I told you. He is so hot! I just can’t get enough of him. He’s big, blond and hairy, a real bear if you know what I mean. Kinda reminds me of that sexy country singer Trace Adkins, the really tall one with long blond hair. But John is so much more than just good looks, he’s sweet, and thoughtful and kind…
Deanna: And almost old enough to be your father, I might add.
Travis: Hey now! (((laughing))) He’s only seventeen years older than me.
Deanna: Which is the point of this blog, silly! Older men. Now, Travis, you just graduated Law school, took your bar….passed with flying colors I might add. Congrats on that.
Travis: Thanks!
Deanna: And you’re working as a child advocate…very noble. So for all intents and purposes you are a pretty independent guy, and quite the looker, too, I might add. (((winks))) You could have your pick of guys. So why did you want to be with an older man?
Travis: (((gives a wry smile))) You sound just like John. He’s always wondering why I would want—and I’m quoting him here—in an old hairy guy that’s gone soft in the middle.
But that is not what I see when I look at John.
Deanna: What do you see?
Travis: When I look at John I see not only a big, strong man physically, I see the emotional strength only age can provide. And there’s nothing sexier than a man who knows who he is and what he wants.

John has lived, made mistakes and learned from them. His life is established and he isn’t floundering and trying to ‘find himself’ like some guys my age. He knows who he is and once he makes a commitment he sticks to it. Do you know how rare loyalty is these days?
Deanna: I do. Now have you always been attracted to older men?
Travis: Yeah, I have. My friends don’t get it. A lot of folks don’t. Heck, when John first introduced me to his sister, I swear she thought it was a joke. I mean John has not only 17 years on me but probably a hundred pounds, too. We get odd looks sometimes when we go out. For example, when we were in Turks and Caicos our scuba instructor kept referring to him as my father. I finally had to walk up to John, yank his head down so give him the hottest kiss I could manage. Then I turned and smiled at the instructor and said, “Get it? Boyfriend. Not daddy.” Though I suppose by slang definition, John could be considered my daddy.
Deanna: (((laughing hysterically))) You didn’t!
Travis: You bet your ass I did. John was a bit flustered, but he liked it. He loves it when I’m assertive like that.
Deanna: I bet he does. Now is there anything else that makes older men appeal to you?
Travis: To me an older man represents experience, maturity and at the risk of making me sound like a rent boy, security. I need a man who can take care of me, and I don’t mean monetarily. I want someone I can trust with my heart. Someone who won’t let me fall but will be there to catch me if I do. I found all of that in John. I always know he is going to be there for me. Not to mention he’s really easy on the eyes.
Deanna: Wow, it sounds like you really love him.
Travis: I do. He always tells me how lucky he is, but I think he’s got it all wrong. I count myself lucky every day that he wants me. I know it may sound crazy but I think I fell in love with him the first time I saw him.
Deanna: Can you tell us about that?
Travis (((blushes))) Well, see the thing is, John and I met thru a service called 1NightStand
Deanna: You mean like an internet dating site?
Travis: Not exactly. 1NightStand is in the business of providing a fantasy encounter. You contact the lady that runs it, her name is Madame Eve, and she asks you what you’re looking for in a man. It was like filling out a custom order form for a new car for me, just a whole lot more fun. I wanted an older, bigger man…and a hairy one. (((grins)))
Deanna: That’s a subject for another blog, hon. And I suppose John custom ordered you?
Travis: (((offers a sheepish shrug))) Not exactly, but I suppose you’ll have to read the rest of our story to find out what happened.
Deanna: Well, I can help the readers with that one. Everyone who posts a comment on this blog will be entered in a random drawing to win a copy of BEAR IT ALL from Decadent Publishing.

Deanna: Now before we go, can you tell me what you have been up to. We’ve lost touch since I finished the book
Travis: That’s because John and I did a little work for another author. I think you may know her. Wendy Burke?
Deanna: I know her well! She’s a writing partner and a dear friend. How is Wendy?
Travis: She’s doing great! She’s been busy with her new book THE ONE HE CHOSE, also from Decadent Publishing. It’s a story about John’s sister Gracie. Apparently she has a little encounter courtesy of Madame Eve, too. And if you wanna find out what John and I have been up to since we returned from the Caribbean, you’ll have to read it!
Deanna: I will definitely have to check that out!
I want to thank Margie for hosting us today, and Travis for answering my questions.

A 1Night Stand story…
After losing his partner three years ago, John needs to learn how to open his heart and live again. He thinks a one night stand in the Caribbean might be the answer, but when he sees the young, thin and much smaller Travis, he thinks the agency sent the wrong man.
Can desire overcome misunderstanding when these two bear it all? Or will both men walk away from exactly what they need and desire?
If anyone
has any questions for either of us, or wants to let us know why they
find older men sexy, please leave a comment below. As I mentioned
before, one lucky commenter will win a copy of Travis’s story BEAR IT
ALL.

Thanks for being my guest, Deanna and Travis! I think the concept of "Daddy" sounds very strange to those unfamiliar with gay romances. I plan to use it as the theme in my next book and oh, BTW, I love a man with a nice furry chest.

Bear It All sounds so good. I've got to check it out and get it. So many books, so little time

I know but she's too classy/uptight to do more than casually mention him and only to me no one else in the salon cuz she trusts me not to be a dip about it. Actually she is better friends with his ex and stays at her house in SUndance when she goes out there.

Awww, Darcy! Thanks! I hope you enjoy the book however you get it! And I too looooove this cover. Fiona Jayde designed it. I posted last week on my blog who I envisioned as Travis and John http://deannawadsworth.blogspot.com/2011/08/inspiration.html
and I am so pleased with how well she captured the spirit and look of my two heroes!
Good Luck in the drawing!

Deanna,
Oh there is no doubt I'll get the book, and I really can't wait to read it. I love when Margie post authors I haven't read before cause she's not lead me wrong yet. The cover is really hot, and it's refreshing to see covers that not repeaters as I've seen a few times just lately.
The characters in your story sound awfully good, and very sure of what the reader can look forward to...*S*

I love the sound of this one, Deanna. Travis and Jon sound like a great couple. What inspired you to write this type of story, Deanna?

Thanks Dawn!
Well I must say, I like hairy men and I had just finished an anthology called 'Bear Lust' and I just knew I needed to write about a bear. I know John wont be my last, either.
